NZRA National Launch Day March 2023

The images speak for themselves with this one! Above is "The Nike" a 1:1 Replica of the Nike Smoke Sounding rocket used by NASA throughout the 70's and 80's. Standing at 6.5m tall and weighing in over 300kg with full "R" motor propellant, this thing is the most powerful amateur rocket launched outside of the USA... National Launch Day or "NLD" sees amateurs from all over the country descend on Taupiri/Orini in the North Island, for a few days of awesomeness. The Christchurch Rocketeers have made the pilgrimage here every year since 2019.
